GM CHAPARRAL


Designed for the 2025 revival of the LA Times Grand Prix, the Chaparral Volt uses advanced EREV propulsion, energy collection, generation and management system to create an entirely new category of racing – the eco-triathlon.
The Chaparral Volt collects and generates its own energy from three different clean, renewable and abundant California resources: Earth, Wind and Fire.
Earth (Geologic) Gravity and momentum-capture regeneration and aero-thermal resistance provide astounding levels of braking efficiency in addition to active energy regeneration.
Wind (Aero-Thermal) Building on the legendary Chaparral 2J, the Volt utilizes rear turbine extractors for power cell cooling, down force and (in reversed direction) a combination of aero-assist braking and energy regeneration.
Fire (Radiant Sunlight) Integrated thin-film PV panels for the racer’s body and team support unit takes advantage of Southern California’s most abundant resource, the sun, and converts it for use as the Chaparral Volt’s primary energy source.

BMW has designed a hydrogen powered salt flat racer based on the premise of Reuse (instead of recycle). This concept utilizes existing, ordinary, and mundane materials, such as old oil barrels and barbeque lids, as main components for the body and wheel discs. Friendly, whimsical and sustainable, the concept employs goldfish as “co-pilots” or “canaries-in-a-coal mine” to ensure that the vehicle is running clean emissions (if your fish get sick, you must be running “rich”). The wheels are gel-nylon for necessary flex, allowing tires to be airless and re-vulcanized or re-treaded.

Honda Racing Car’s


The concept car is designed to offer superb aerodynamic performance. The rear wing, which is positioned above the engine, makes for down-force over the rear axle that increases once the engine is up at operating temperature. In order to reduce the rotating drag, the side panel of the Indy Car Series makes the air go around the wheels. Proper attention has been paid to the driver’s safety. The guy behind the wheel is protected by a structure that draws inspiration from the shape of leaves.
The unit diffuses the energy of the collision and also helps in keeping the interior cockpit structure safe and sound. The rear spoiler keeps the rear tires firmly in contact with the track surface and also doubles as a noticeable billboard that might interest sponsors. Moreover, the stripe dividing the spoiler has a thermally sensitive material that changes color depending on engine temperature. This project was sponsored by Honda and the Indy Racing League.

The final projects of the Transportation Design students at Turin-based IED (istituto Europeo di Design), developed in partnership with BMW with the goal of creating a car for 2015 interpreting the language evolution and the brand’s philosophy.The concept is focused keeping in mind the modern needs, tastes and life style of an individual. All the cars designed in this project looks like toy cars. You cannot even imagine them running on roads in the real life. There are different concepts of cars designed by the students and all of them are unbelievable in their design and concept. The one that steals our attention is BMW ZX-6 concept, check out the image below

When it comes to concepts I am all for technology but always come up with the same question “why are concepts just that “concepts” and never reality. Anyway the latest concept car is the Silbervogel Gravity Racing Car Concept which runs on gravity.
The Silbervogel Gravity Car has no engine which is great because that means a green way of life, so a good start we say. The person racing this automobile will solely rely on gravity to pick up speed which come on will gain and lose speed, would it not?
This whole concept idea is from Jakob Hirzel from the Pforzheim University Of Applied Sciences in Germany.
